Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve celebrating and exchanging presents. Juan Carlos played some accordion music, and the boys were in heaven with all their presents. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the presents Santa brought them. But Mateo received a Razor scooter (and yes, a black race car) and Santi got a Fropper bicycle. I'm happy that this year, after hours and hours of Internet surfing, we got them both presents that they are really enjoying!! Thank you all for the wonderful presents and for your presence in our lives!

Mati loves his binoculars from Abuelita Rosi!

Enjoying magic tricks from the magic kit Juan Carlos gave him.
Discussing some serious issues with Tio Cucu

Loving his train set ... They received so many cars that I don't think we'll ever need to buy them any again!! Another favorite was the Mack Lego car their paternal grandparents sent Mati, but which Santi plays with a lot. THANK YOU ALL!!

Irvine Park: Playing and Meeting Santa Claus

Going on a train ride

TUUUUUNNNNNNNELLLLLL!!!
"What do you mean the train ride is over??? It's not fair!!"
"Now THESE are swings!!!"

"YUPPPPPPIE!!!"

"Higher, higher!"

Los cachetones llegaron ya ...
Upon seeing Santa Claus, what is the first thing Mati tells him? "Santa, my brother throws his food on the floor!"
Santi is thinking, "Who is this weirdo?"
Family picture ... what a rarity!

Story time by Ms. Claus with Tio Cucu

Discovery Science Museum

Fascinated with the "How Tornadoes Are Formed" exhibition
Blowing smoke signals to Santa: "Please, please bring me a black race car!"
Hard at work

In a wind chamber ... the wind reached a speed of 78mi/hr!
"Get me out of here!!!!"
Santi wasn't too fond of the wind ...
Mateo trying his hand at being a hockey goalkeeper ... he blocked one puck, with his head helmet!

Boys at Play

Classic shot: the big boys got excited with a guitar game on the computer, while the little ones cheered on and tried to participate. Afterwards, Mati and Tio Cucu would play together a game where Mati had to drive a bus and park it at a designated spot without crashing ... you can guess how well that went!

Happy Happy Holidays!!

Happy 2010!!! The Bossut-Ugarte clan made a pilgrimage trip to the OC - to the sun, the beach, the snow, the cold, good shopping (too much!!), and above all, good times with family!!

The trip was awesome: the boys were spoiled rotten by all the attention and gifts they received, we were pampered with yummy food (especially the breakfasts!!), we all fell in love with Buckey and Daisy (two bloodhounds), and we did tons of fun activities: outings to the park, Disneyland, Pretend City, we saw old friends, Mati went to the movies with Abuelita Rosi, Nico went skiing ... all packed in two weeks!

Here is a first set of pictures taken on our first day. We were welcomed with deliciously warm weather, so what better place to go than the beach???

Mati racing with Abuelita Rosi ...
Abuelita Rosi giving up ... Mati has tremendous resistance, especially since he trains at altitude! (JK!)
"Come on Abuelita, one more time!" ... Abuelita woke up with hip pain the next day :)
My handsome blondie

The stripping has begun ...

"Look at my big muscles!"
And the stripping ends like this ... skinny dipping ... up to his knees!
