Embracing the Rain!

Yesterday, I picked Mati up from school with gear in hand to enjoy a rainy afternoon (if I can't beat the rain, might as well embrace it, no??)!  With rain jackets and boots on and umbrellas we walked back home (our driver/escort was following us from the dry comfort of the SUV!!!) and splashed in all the puddles we could find!!  Mati was thrilled!

Thank you Mamounette for the rain gear!!!

Pigeon Series

Mati is getting braver and accepting to do things that before were completely out of the question, like putting grains of corn on his hand and feeding the pigeons!!

It must have been quite an adorable sight to see Mati feeding the pigeons: tourists actually sat down next to my boys and posed for pictures!!!
"I'm not too sure of this feeding business ..."
"You guys are invading my space!!!"

"Daaaaaaaaddy ... !!!"

Cartagena Shots

Loads of pictures from our trip to Cartagena!!!  It's a beautiful city ... absolutely gorgeous, BUT, boy, was it hot!  We were "lucky" that a breeze was constantly blowing, otherwise, we would have melted, especially Mati and Santi.  What we were not lucky in is that March seems to be mosquito month and we were quite a sumptuous banquet for these pesky insects!   ENJOY!

Catedral de Cartagena, where all the famous people get married.

El Palacio de la Inquisicion

Mati was fascinated by all the torture devices!
Beautiful building to be tortured in! In fact, it's one of the most beautiful colonial buildings in all of Cartagena ... ironic!!
Nico had enough of me so he took me to the French choice of torture: the guillotine
Nice view to get one's head cut off! ;)

SURPRISE!!!  Mati agrees to carry this animal (EL PEREZOSO) with extremely long claws!
Nico told Mati about Jesus on the cross ... Mati became obsessed with the whole concept and asked (again and again) why "they" had put him on the cross.  Every time we went in to a church we had to find Jesus on the cross.

Monasterio de la Popa
Castillo de San Felipe
"That's my flag!"

In the dungeons ... became Mati's fascination #2 in this trip!

At the Plaza de la Aduana

A happy tourist!  Even though he spent most of the day in the stroller, Santi was very good throughout the trip.

The sweets ... yummmmm!
